Robert Carnochan conducts the Frost Wind Ensemble in a performance of “composer in residence” Carter Pann’s monumentalSymphony for Winds “My Brother’s Brain.” The 30-minute symphony highlights the composer’s relationship with his brother and the demons many of us deal with in our lives. Also featured will be Frost School’s professor of Cello, Ross Harbaugh in the consortium premiere of Mr. Pann’s High Songs, a new work for amplified cello and chamber winds led by guest conductor Timothy Shade. Additionally, we will feature the highly acclaimed, New York based soprano soloist Melissa Hughes in a performance of Pulitzer Prize winning composer Osvaldo Golijov’s Three Songs for Soprano.
